Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Zanussi Refrigerator.
External Cleaning
Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water. Dust the condenser (black grille) and the compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner once or twice a year to prevent dust accumulation which affects performance and increases electricity consumption.
Internal Cleaning
Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect from the electrical supply. Clean the accessories and inside of the appliance with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litres of water). Avoid using detergents, abrasive powders, or products with a strong fragrance, wax polishes, or products containing bleach or alcohol.
Defrosting the Freezer
Remove frost with the special plastic scraper provided whenever the frost thickness reaches 1/4 inch. For thicker ice, perform complete defrosting once or twice a year, preferably when the appliance is empty. Switch off, remove all food, and leave the door open until defrosted.
When the Appliance is Not in Use
If not using the appliance for long periods, disconnect from the electricity supply, empty all foods, clean the appliance, and leave the door open to prevent unpleasant smells.
Proper Storage
Do not place bottles and cans in the freezer compartment as they can burst when contents freeze. Adhere to manufacturers' recommended storage times.
